the untapped gift of education
Education. I hate it and I love it. I hate what it is, I love what it can be. The problem with our current education system is that it’s all just to serve the economy. The big green monster. Teachers get over worked, students become uninspired, the thirst for learning gets quenched, curiosity is discouraged, discovery rarely happens, students have little control over their education and get burnt out before graduation. This is what I think education should be about. Instead of “How can the next generation fit and fuel the economy?”, we should instead say “Let’s build up the next generation to be equipped to make the world a better place.” Because that’s the gift of real education! It can trigger the change to [bind the broken hearted, set the captives free, bring joy, comfort, righteousness and goodness]. We are obsessed with the gift wrap, forgetting to look inside the gift to find the real treasure. This is the untapped gift of education. Let’s unwrap the present!!
